I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
